This is how the interview process works at Joyn.

How it works

How many interviews will I attend?


We usually have 1 to 3 rounds of interviews. The amount is depending on the role. 

  • In the 1st round we want to get to know you better. There will be questions about you as a person, your education and professional experience and maybe also about your hobbies. HR and the respective department participate.
  • In the 2nd round your future Team Lead will get to know you and also check the team fit. 
  • In the 3rd round you get to know an other's department's director. This cross-check gives information about your Joyn-Fit and mindset-level. It should also give you the opportunity to get to know some of your future colleagues.



Do I have to complete a case?


Sometimes we provide applicants a case between the 1st and 2nd round to test subject-specific know-how. The results will be discussed in the second round.




What are questions we could ask in the interview?


  • "Explain the most important tasks you are looking for!" By asking this we want you to share what you expect from your further position. The more you share, the better we understand what you are looking for.
  • "What was your biggest learning with your last challenge?"
  • "Which role would you take in a group project?"
  • "What did you love about your last job?"

We do not use old fashioned questions like "Can you name your weaknesses and strengths?". Every person has strengths and weaknesses and that is what makes everyone individual.



Do I have to visit the office for the recruiting and hiring process? 


Sometimes we do interviews onsite. Please let us know if you like to meet us in person. After you are hired, the equipment can be either picked up at the office or can also be shipped to your address.




Which language will we speak in the interview?


Joyn's company language is English. The interview will be in English, if one or more participants don't speak German. If German is a requirement for the position you applied to, the interview will be held in German. In this case, a switch to English is possible, as we also want to get to know your language level. 




Will I get any feedback on the interview?


We know how important providing feedback is for ongoing career development and will give our best to provide feedback in the next 2 days after your interview. Nevertheless detailed feedback is not possible in some cases due to legal reasons but we will do what we can to communicate reasons behind all our decisions openly.

You already did the first step successfully! Check out Joyn's corporate website and inform yourself about what we do and who we are. Also make sure that you read the job description carefully and know which role you are applying for.




What do I need to know about Joyn?


You don't need to know every detail about Joyn as a company or platform. It is helpful to have an idea of basic topics like our business model, values or vision.
